I watched the broadcast last night! It was really good! Did you hear the french when they sang I am a child of God? They were from Africa if I remember right. I really enjoyed all the talks they were really good! I'll have to re read them soon. Though I'm still working on talks from last conference. We just barely go last conference's ensign last transfer.

This week was kinda crazy because we had to do so much traveling. We were gone for a couple days for Geneva so the week went by really fast. I forgot my camera so I didn't get to take any pictures. Sorry.

We had a rdv fixed with a different ami and he didn't show up he text later and said that he had a family emergency and had to go out of town but he promised that we would meet when he gets back.

Otherwise there hasn't been much happening.

Crazy story. So we had a referral from the church website. Lives kinda far away. He wasn't home when we went so we left a note saying to call us and set up a time that we could come back. Turns out he works with one of the members in the branch. The following Sunday this member tells us that his friend was sad that we didn't leave a book of Mormon. So through this member we set up a time to come back. Getting there was pretty difficult in itself. So we get there our member picks us up and we find the apartment but he doesn't answer the door or his phone. So we decide that he fell asleep. We left him a BOM this time and a note and we left. Turns out this guy left work was afraid he was going to be late to our RDV and got in a car accident, broke his phone and I think he was hurt but only a little. Good news is he still wants to meet with us and he has started reading the book of Mormon and he says that he will come to church!
Crazy huh?

Other than that nothing really interesting happened this week.

Hey momma!

There is a super sweet elderly couple here in Chalon that have a daughter who live in Arizona. They have been regularly updating me on their travel plans because they are planning to go visit her from mid September to November. They got really excited when I said that I will be back in the states during that time. They are so sweet. I think they want me to visit them.

This week has been really interesting. Most of our amis have been really flaky or dropped off the map lately. And contacting is something both Sr Koyle and I have been having a hard time with but we wanted to get over it so we have really been focusing on it this week. Our Zone leaders set a goal for us to contact 500 people last week and we didn't really know if that would be possible for us but we worked for it and on Saturday our odds were looking pretty slim but we went out and ended up talking to 255 people on Saturday and contacted a total of 504 for the week! It was cool! And we have a couple of really cool people that we will hopefully be able to start teaching this week!

Yo Sis!

Things are going pretty good. This week is back to normal life for the French (they were on a 2 week vacation) so hopefully things will start picking up again. All of our fixed rdvs have been falling through because of the vacation but its okay cause we have been working allot with members and recent converts. This week we are probably going to end up spending most of our time contacting. Which is good cause its something that I really need to work on.

I cannot believe how fast time has been going by! In my head its still January. but then I look and the date and freak out a little. I noticed this morning that on Thursday I will only have 200 days left on my mission. That is really kinda terrifying because Im afraid that it will be over too soon and that I will not have done enough or learned enough and that it will be like a dream. AH! But it will be okay. Though on the flip side I am excited to go home and spend time with you guys and restart normal life to some degree.

I am super excited for conference! I love conference! I got to watch the last CES fireside and was so excited to see BYUI :) Best school ever!

3 Mar 2014 {Transfer #7: Still in Chalon}

We were right! I am still in Chalon! I am happy to stay because I think I have more that I need to do here. Soeur Koyle and I are still together and even the other equipe stayed the same too! Though they are looking for an apartment for Elders here so there will probably be some changes here next transfer.

This week was GREAT!

First of all, I finished the Book of Mormon in French several days before the deadline I had set for myself!
I did an exchange in another ville and it was good.We had some good lessons this week both with amis and less active members. We have been doing allot of work with members here. I GOT TO DO SERVICE! meaning: I GOT TO WEAR PANTS! I miss pants allot. we went to help this family (not members) who are in the process of renovating their house. We chiseled plaster(or really old cement?) off a wall to expose the rock underneath. I was chiseling and hammering at this wall for a solid hour and the last couple days the muscles in my hands have been pretty sore. Not a problem. Now I know I have grippy muscles in case I ever need to hold onto something for dear life. haha :)

Monday I had a really cool miracle/testimony building experience. 

The last couple weeks I was in Nice we were out by Monaco looking for an inactive sister. We got to the address and couldn't really find her apartment. There were a group of about 6 Filipino men outside of an apartment that we asked if they knew this woman. Turns out they were kinda drunk so they talked in circles about how that it was the right address but they didn't know the sister we were looking for. In the meantime one of the men came up to me and asked about the Book of Mormon I was holding I gave it to him and he flipped through the first couple pages to the picture of Christ. He then told me that he really needed this book. But he wouldn't take it because he was with his friends. He told me that we could come back another time and that he would be there. He told me several times "Don't forget me!" Unfortunately I was transferred within the next couple weeks and never had a chance to go back.

A couple weeks ago this experience came to my mind and I couldn't stop thinking about it. I asked Sister Howden if she had ever gotten the chance to find this man after I left but she never had the chance. I still couldn't shake this experience from my mind so I decided to call the sister in Nice and give them a really vague refferal since I no longer remember the man's name thankfully Sr Howden remembered the address and the name of the member we had been looking for. The sisters said they would check it out the next time that there were in that area. 

Monday I got a call from the sister in Nice. They told me that they had gone to the address and...did not find this phillippino man. BUT as they knocked on some doors looking for him they found a couple from cameroon who were really interested and were able to fix a rdv with them! AND because they had come prepared for my Phillipino man they were able to give the Tagalog Book of mormon to someone else they met there!

That was a huge testimony builder for me because lately I have been really trying to learn to understand and recognize the promptings of the spirit. 

The Lord works in Mysterious ways.
