Hey!

Chalon is very cool! Its been a hard adjustment so far because Montauban was the first ville that I was really close to the members and our amis. I miss them allot but I know I am needed here. And Chalon is really nice we have some really solid amis and lots of potentials. In fact, we have one ami who is going to get baptized next Sunday. I haven't met her yet just talked to her on the phone but she seems really cool. I'm excited for her.

My new comp is Sister Koyle she is from Twin falls Idaho and is 19. Shes really cool and we get along really well.

Yeah Im adding pictures today the computer I used last week was really slow and I didn't have the full email time so i only got a couple on there before I had to go. Today I will hopefully get most of them on there.

Love ya lots!

20 Jan 2014 {Transfer #6: Chalon, France}

I guess the Bria's get the word out fast huh? Yeah I am moving today to Chalon. I will be on trains from 130-830 today so that means lots of study time and time to talk to people on the train!

A) First Transfer: Montpellier, France
B)Second Transfer, Take 1: Grenoble, France
C) Second Transfer, Take 2: Nice, France
D) Montauban, France
E) Chalon, France

I am really sad to leave Montauban; I really feel like they are my family here and its hard for me to imagine that I will love another place as much as I love it here but I'm sure that Chalon will be great! And I'm going to be finishing the training of my companion. This is her second transfer. There is a second equipe in Chalon too and that's Sr Howden and she is getting a brand new sister so that will be fun to work with her again!

I'm uploading a bunch of pictures I've taken the last couple days mostly with the wonderful members here. I have to come back to visit them.

I'll be on the other side of the country in the cold and the best part will be that I should be going to Swiss for zone meetings I'm excited to see Switzerland.

Its true that giving yourself up to the Lord is not very easy. Its a constant work in progress that I'm not quite sure if I will ever recognize if I have achieved that.

Its gonna take me a while to get the pictures uploaded so Im gonna go for now Love ya lots!

13 Jan 2014

Hello! Its transfer time again! That's really weird to me. I feel like I haven't been here for very long! And I can't at all believe that I am already halfway done with my mission!!

I can see a difference in myself. I think the biggest difference at the moment has been in my motivation. I wasn't horribly lazy before but I definitely quit doing things when they were no longer convenient for me or when they got hard. But now I see a lot more the value of those hard things and I have a lot more of a desire to continue. There was one day in Nice that Sr Howden helped me to realize that I had been holding myself back by expecting less of myself than I subconsciously knew I could do. That was a big help.

I have learned a lot about myself too, a lot that I didn't realize before.

Not a whole lot has happened or changed since when I emailed ya a couple days ago. sorry. the good news is though that I am uploading some pictures for you! 2 are the canal. Its really pretty. then there is mural in progress that's pretty cool.

6 Jan 2014

We went and visited a bunch of people new years eve and everyone fed us something it was insane we could not eat anymore and we both ended up a little sick by the end of the day but it was super good preparation for new years day!

New years we had a feast with this huge crazy family in our ward it was awesome! I love their families so much! I ate oysters, frog legs, duck liver pate and like 15 other things all in one meal! We ate and talked for at least 3 hours! It was allot of fun!

I have stuff to put on dropbox for you but It wont let me today so...that will have to wait to next week. but good news for you...its less time than normal cause im emailing late. Some members stole our monday.

Today is the first day of Soldes! Soldes are a huge nation wide month long sale in all the stores. They have it in january and also in july. There are usually really good sales. and it gets better the farther into soldes you get. cool huh?

Well thats all I got for today Love ya lots!

Letter from the Roney's

Dear Parents,

We are so privileged to be working with your missionary children! Thank you for all you have done to help them become such impressive missionaries.

We are beginning the year with a focus on finding families to teach and baptize. We are attempting to improve in our abilities to find and to teach families. We hope to grow in our love for the Savior and in the process we will improve in our obedience and in our love for others, especially our companions. This will allow us to better reflect the love of the Savior to others as we contact (directly and through members) and as we teach. We hope to teach very simply with great love and to let the spirit testify more clearly so families will desire baptism and enjoy the amazing fruits of the Gospel.

You may be able to help us to succeed in this as you pray for your missionary and the whole mission and as you support (in your letters) these worthy goals of improved love and improved obedience in order to more effectively find, teach and baptize families.

With our increase to about 260 young missionaries and 9 senior couples now, we have had more of you needing to contact me. In the event of a family emergency or any other great need to contact me.

Of course, consider that we may be on a different time zone than you.  We are currently 8 hours ahead of the Utah time zone.

Thank you again! We love your missionary so we love you :)

Transfer Schedule

Here's a letter we received from the mission home containing the transfer schedule

Families,

President Roney wanted all parents to have the transfer schedule is so that you would know when to expect address changes.  Transfers are always on Monday's and take place every 6 weeks. The missionaries are notified on Friday of any changes.  Travel for those changes takes place on Monday.  When missionaries have to travel they often do not have the time to email home.  Sometimes they will find the time later that week to get to where they can email you their new address, but sometimes they don't.  Please keep this calendar so that if you do not receive an email you will know it is because they have not had the time to write and you may have to wait until the following week to hear from them and get their new address.

Tuesday of transfer week is incoming day when our new missionaries arrive from the MTC. The missionaries who will be training those new arrivals will also be traveling on Monday and will be very busy for the next two days with the activities we have for the new trainers and missionaries. Even though their addresses will not change they may not have the time to email home.

If at all possible please wait for your missionary to send their new address information to you themselves.
