It was a very special experience, shared by a small number of people. Present were Kylee's mom, dad, sister Shayna, and brother-in-law Tom.
After one last interview with the stake president, we were all invited into the high council room. Tom was asked to offer an opening prayer, then each person was given a chance to tell Kylee what they thought was wonderful about her, and to give her a piece of advice for her mission. The thoughts and sentiments shared were tender and sacred. Kylee was then set apart as a full time missionary for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints by the stake president, with her father and brother-in-law also standing in the circle.
Shayna said that though there were only six people in the room, she could not help but feel that the room was much more crowded by loved ones unseen.
For the next 18 month Kylee will now be known as Sister Young, having sacrificed her personal life to serve as an ambassador of Christ, to the good people of southern France.
